Former champions Mohun Bagan were held to a goalless draw by Everready Association while Tollygunge Agragami crushed West Bengal Police 7-1 in the Kolkata Super Division football league on Tuesday.
Despite dominating on their home ground, star-studded Bagan paid the price for inept finishing, as they missed at least five rosy chances.
Everready, on the other hand, played an ultra-defensive game, crowding out the Bagan attackers in their rear.
Bagan, who lost to East Bengal 0-3 on July 5, now have 13 points from six outings.
In the other game at the East Bengal ground, Tollygunge established quick sway and opened up a 2-0 lead at half-time, before literally toying with their rivals after the breather.
For the winners, Akeem Abolanle struck a brace, and Kajal Bhattacharya, Koustov Ghosh, Gouranga Dutta, Amit Das and Niladri Chakraborty scored one apiece.
Mrityunjoy Patra got a consolation goal for the policemen.
After playing six matches, Tollygunge now have eight points.
