Indian tennis ace Leander Paes won his 27th doubles title at the $550K Swiss Open ATP in Gstaad on Sunday.
He and partner David Rikl of the Czech Republic beat Frantisek Cermak/Leos Friedl of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-3 in the final.
The victory earned them 26,800 euros (about $27,000) and 200 entry points each (40 race points), which took their team race points total to 497, inching them closer to Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi, who are on 498 points and in third place.
This was Paes's second title in three finals with Rikl and third in five finals this year.
Path to the final:
Round 1: beat P.Luxa/ D.Skoch, 6-2, 6-3,
Quarter-finals: beat S.Prieto/ A.Sa, 6-2, 6-3
Semi-finals: beat P.Pala/ P.Vizner, 6-2, 6-1
