Unseeded Leander Paes and Martina Navratilova advanced to the third round of the mixed doubles in the Australian Open at Melbourne on Wednesday.
The pair had things their way while beating the third seeded pair of Mark Knowles of Bahamas and Elena Likhovtseva of Russia 6-2, 6-4 in a second round match.
In the first round, Paes and Navratilova had beaten Australians Scott Draper and Lisa McShea 6-3, 7-5.
On Monday, Paes, partnering David Rikl of the Czech Republic, beat James Blake of the US and Mark Merklein of Bahamas 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 to enter the fourth round of the men's doubles.
