JCT, Phagwara, maintained their winning run in the National Football League, beating ITI, Bangalore, 3-0 at the Guru Nanak stadium in Ludhiana on Wednesday.
The match was yet to take off in real terms when, in a lightning move, Hardip Saini struck the first blow, scoring in the very first minute. He latched on to a Jo Paul Ancheri pass from the right corner and bulged the net.
JCT, with 27 points, moved to the fourth position on the league table, while ITI face the threat of relegation. They have only four points and are at the bottom of the table.
Crossing over a goal up, JCT increased the tally through Jaswinder (49th minute) and K Yeboah (79th minute) to complete the rout.
Jo Ancheri, who had a fine outing, was declared man of the match.
