Defending champions Abhinn Shyam Gupta and Aparna Popat of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board retained their titles in the 67th Senior National badminton championships at the Kanaklata indoor stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
In a pulsating summit clash in the men's section, third seed Gupta faced stiff opposition from top seed Chetan Anand, also from PSPB, before putting it across at 15-13, 5-15, 15-13 after an hour and 16 minutes.
In the women's final, fifth seed Popat was also taken to the distance by B R Meenakshi (PSPB) before prevailing at 11-3, 7-11, 13-11.
The results were erroneously reported earlier on the basis of information provided by the organisers.
In the mixed doubles final, Jaseel P Ismail and Manjusha Kanwar of PSPB beat V Diju and Fatima Nazneen of Kerala 11-7, 11-0.
The men's doubles crown was won by the PSPB pair of Marcos Bristow and Rupesh Kumar, who beat Jaseel P Ismail and Jaison Xavier, also of PSPB, 17-15, 15-3.
