Haywards Sporting Clube, Goa, came from behind to score a brilliant 4-2 win over Indian Bank in their fourth match of the National Football League in Chennai on Saturday evening.
The win took the Goans' points tally to eight with two wins and two draws. The bankmen, lucky to escape relegation despite their poor showing last season, have lost all their four matches so far.
After former international Syed Sabir Pasha put the bankmen ahead in the 26th minute against the run of play, Haywards equalised in the 51st minute through a superb goal by Dudu Omagbemi.
Then Abdullatif Seriki put the Goans ahead in the 60th minute before Avinash Thapa, substituting for Jerose Oliveira, increased the lead.
Riding on their 3-2 lead, the Goans made it 4-2 when Dudu Omagbemi settled the issue beyond doubt.
