Sunday Seah and Mohammed Gafari's first half strikes propelled Dempo to a convincing 2-0 win over Indian Bank in the 8th National Football League at the Nehru stadium in Margao on Thursday.

Dempo took the lead in the 15th minute when Gafari relayed the ball to Clifford Miranda who squared the ball to Sunday Seah. The latter unleashed a powerful left footer beating keeper Felix Edward with ease.

Mohammed Gafari, who was instrumental in the first goal as well then uncorked a fierce shot to find the far post off a pass from Sunday Seah to have Dempo leading 2-0 at half time.

Indian Bank tried hard with counter attacks and had their scoring chances as they pressed for goals in the last 15 minutes of the first half but paid the price for some
poor finishing.

Joseph was unlucky in the second half when his shot hit the upright.

Earlier, in the first half Sunday could have increased the lead but his fierce shot from an acute angle hit the post.

In the second half, substitute Francis Silveira also missed an open chance after he was put through by Ishfaq Ahmed but Silveira shot out.

Dempo now have six points from two wins and a loss while Indian Bank are yet to open their account.

Referee Subrata Sarkar showed yellow cards to Indian Bank's Anthony Noel and Amjad Hussain.
