Marleni Mejia of Portugal came up with a final surge to win the men's 400 metres for the visually impaired at the World Athletics Championships, at the Stade de France, in Paris, on Wednesday.
He clocked 52.41 seconds in the demonstration event to finish ahead of Jose Sayovo Armondo of Angola, who came in second with a timing of 53.05 seconds.
Baa Aladji of France took the bronze, clocking 55.42 seconds.
