Dempo Sports Club registered an emphatic 4-1 victory over minnows Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in an OIL PSU National Football League match in Bangalore on Tuesday.
The winners, who in the process posted their ninth victory in 21 encounters, scored twice in each half.
HAL managed to reduce the margin in the second session through a spot-kick.
The Goan team increased its points tally to 32 and climbed to fifth position in the league, while HAL, with only eight points, faces relegation.
Dempo got their goals through Bijen Singh, Jose Luciano, Lazarus Fernandes and substitute Levy Coelho.
As the scoreline indicates, Dempo's domination was total. They never allowed the HAL forwards to have a shy at their goal, though the Bangalore team did manage the odd foray after scoring their only goal five minutes into second session through a penalty-kick, which was converted by Xavier Vijaykumar.
