Suraj Lata Devi to lead
women's hockey team

Seasoned playmaker Suraj Lata Devi will lead the Indian challenge in hockey at the Commonwealth Games, in Manchester from July 25 to August 4.

The Indian Women's Hockey Federation effected a change at the top after India's debacle against the US in the World Cup qualifier in England.

India lost the third match 1-3, and the series 0-1 after it drew the first two matches.

The team:

Goalkeepers: Tingoleima Chanu, Helen Mary
Full backs: Amandeep Kaur, Suman Bala, Kanti Baa
Half-backs: Sita Gussain, Sumrai Tete, Suraj Lata Devi, Masira Surin
Forwards: Pritam Rani Siwach, Manjinder Kaur, Sanggai Ibemhal Chanu, Mamta Kharab, Jyoti Sunita Kullu, Pakpi Devi, Saba Anjum.
Standbys: Deepika Murthy, Pushpa Pradhan, Manju and Adline Kerketta.
