ITI score narrow win over JCT

Nigerian import Mohammad Salisu scored in the second half as Indian Telephone Industries, Bangalore, beat Jagajit Cotton and Textile Mills, Phagwara, 1-0 in an eighth round match in the National Football League in Bangalore on Saturday.

After a barren first half, which saw both teams churn out insipid fare, Salisu found the target in the 85th minute of the encounter off a pass from his country-mate, the dashing George Ekeh.

With this win, ITI have 13 points, while the Punjab outfit, former NFL champions, are at the bottom with just two points and yet to taste victory.
