Punjab Police notch first win

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's victory run was halted when they lost to Punjab Police by a solitary goal in a sixth National football league on Saturday.

The Punjab cops scored the all-important goal through Parveen Kumar in the 17th minute of the match.

This was HAL's first defeat in the league. They have 11 points to their credit.

For Punjab Police, who made it to the NFL after winning the second division title last year, this was their first win.

In the second half, HAL's desperate attempts to find the equaliser went in vain mainly due to Punjab Police's agile custodian Satish Kumar.
