Satheesha Rai claims three medals in weightlifting

Satheesha Rai won two golds and a bronze in the men's 77 kg event on Thursday at the 17th Commonwealth Games.

Rai won the gold in clean and jerk with a lift of 175 and also won the overall gold with a combined total of 317.5 kg. He managed to lift 142.5 kg despite being injured in the snatch to claim the bronze.

Dave Morgan of Wales won the silver with an overall total of 305 kg and Renos Doweiya of Nauru (290 kg) bagged the bronze.
