FC Kochin, Mohun Bagan draw 0-0

F C Kochin put up a much better display than they did in their previous matches to hold fancied former champions Mohun Bagan to a goalless draw in their sixth National Football League match at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kochi on Sunday.

The Kerala outfit, seeking their first victory in this edition of the tournament, had a larger share of the exchanges. The ball stayed with them as they teased and tormented the strong rival defence but a goal eluded them. They even put the ball into the Bagan goal, through Shafeeq, but the medio was ruled off-side.

Bagan, who had in their previous match defeated defending champions East Bengal, failed to strike up a good rhythm and their main striker and goal-getter Brazilian Jose Barreto was off-colour.
