Dalmia takes Agarwal to court

International Cricket Council president Jagmohan Dalmia today filed a defamation case against former Doordarshan financial advisor Arun Agarwal.

Agarwal in a press conference in Delhi on April 27 had accused Dalmia of 'defrauding' Doordarshan of $ 4 million while granting the telecast rights to the ICC knockout series in Dhaka in 1998.

The chief metropolitan magistrate S K Maity has now issued a notice to Agarwal for June 16.

In his complaint, on which a notice has also been issued to the news agency United News of India, Dalmia has said the allegations made by Agarwal were "false and motivated."
