Very clearly, that is not correct. If you take positions one to six as belonging to the established batsmen and the rest as the tail, Warne has taken 167 wickets against the former category, and 141 wickets against the tail. His victims, thus, are pretty evenly distributed across the batting order.

However, again, the figures against sub-continental sides are markedly different from those against the rest. Warne has too few wickets against India to permit of much analysis. But against Sri Lanka, a country that has always tended to discount his abilities, 11 of his 15 victims belong to the lower order. And even Pakistan, which seems more in awe of the leggie than its two neighbours, has contributed no less than 18 lower order wickets to Warne's total bag of 37.
