2 women Naxals among 4 killed in AP

Two women Naxalites were killed in an encounter with the police while two others were murdered by People's War Group militants in different incidents in Andhra Pradesh on Monday night.

The police said two women Naxalites of the banned People's War Group were killed in an encounter at Chintakunta village in Nalgonda district. The Naxalites, who were taking shelter in a house, opened fire on a police patrol party which returned the fire, killing two members of Krishnapati Dalam. Three guns were recovered from the spot.

In another incident at Dharmajipet in Medak district, a mandal parishad member was shot dead by Naxalites, accusing him of being a police informant.

Another person K Koteswara Rao, who was attacked by Naxalites at Venkatayapalam, Guntur district, on August 20, succumbed to the injuries on Monday night.
