Law will take its course in Kodnani case: BJP

"BJP fully respects the judiciary. After the Gujarat high court verdict it became clear that the court has found her guilty and she was asked to resign. She is no longer a minister," BJP spokesperson Balbir Punj told media persons in New Delhi [ Images ].

He said the matter was in court and the legal process should be followed.

"Law will take its own course. It is entirely between Mayaben and the judiciary now," Punj said.

Kodnani, state minister for higher education in the Narendra Modi [ Images ] government, resigned on Friday after the Gujarat high court cancelled her anticipatory bail for her alleged role in the 2002 Naroda Patiya riot case.

Kodnani also surrendered before the Special Investigation Team constituted by the apex court, which is probing the 2002 riots in the state afresh.
