Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday described the attack on the Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore as unfortunate.
"Sports and politics have to be separated and I do not think any cause should allow sportspersons to be targeted," Omar said while reacting to the terror attack in Lahore.
He described the incident as unfortunate and said, "Perhaps it is for the first time since the Munich Olympics that sportspersons have been attacked."
"The incident is unfortunate for the entire sub-continent," the chief minister said.
Omar refused to "correlate the Lahore incident with the peace process between India and Pakistan" and said that "any wider linkage between the two would be unfortunate".
He added, "Pakistan must recognise that it is the victim of the very forces it had once promoted and protected. Pakistan should clamp down on these forces," he added.
The J&K CM cautioned that terrorists had "no loyalty and if they are today against India, tomorrow they will be against Pakistan."
