Federal Bureau of Investigation chief Robert Mueller will arrive in New Delhi on Tuesday and hold a series of meetings with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and other top functionaries of the government.

Mueller's visit comes after India and United States shared details of intelligence and investigations in the terror strikes on Mumbai in November last year -- a joint effort which forced Pakistan to admit that a part of the conspiracy was hatched on its soil.

Apart from Chidambaram, Mueller will meet National Security Advisor M K Narayanan and Intelligence Bureau Chief Rajiv Mathur, during which the two sides will discuss security issues including countering terrorism, official sources said.

Surprisingly, Mueller will not be meeting his counterpart, Central Bureau of Investigation Chief Ashwani Kumar, during his stay in the country.

The FBI had helped the Mumbai police in analysing the technical evidence collected during the probe into the terror attack on Mumbai, including the Voice over Internet Protocol and other details pertaining to the Global Positioning System of the satellite phones, used by the terrorists of Lashker-e-Tayiba.

On its part, India allowed FBI to go through the evidence related to the country's worst terrorist attack and allowed the FBI detectives to interrogate the arrested accused.

The FBI is also trying to get access to the 26/11 suspects currently in Pakistan's custody.
