Former chief minister of Karnataka and media in-charge of the Congress party, Veerapa Moily has welcomed decision of the Bhartiya Janata Party chief Rajnath Singh who rushed to Bangalore to find out the details of the action of the Sri Ram Sena which beat up women at a pub in Manglore.

"If Rajnath Singh has rushed to find out details of the incident we welcome the move. We do not want to make any political gain out of this moral policing. But we know that such elements even in the past have helped Bharatiya Janata Party," Moily told media persons in New Delhi on Monday evening.

Rajnath Singh who left for Banglore denied that his trip had anything with the incident. According to party spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy,  the BJP president's trip had been fixed before hand. "He is not going to Manglore," Rudy told rediff.com.

The senior leadership of the party is very upset with the Mangalore as it may result in women voting against the party in the coming elections. Chief Minister S Yedurappa has ordered immediate arrest of miscreants. "I am going to Bengaluru and I would talk to the chief minister about the incident," Singh told newsmen before leaving.
