The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad team, which is probing the Mumbai terror attacks, on Tuesday took transit remand of an accused arrested in connection with the attack on the Central Reserve Police Force camp in Rampur.
"An ATS team, which arrived in the state capital on Monday, took Imran Shahzad alias Abu Samad, currently lodged in Lucknow jail, on transit remand to Mumbai," said Additional Director General (Law and Order) Brijlal.
Special Judge Vigyan Ram gave the transit remand of Imran on an application filed by the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Two accused -- Shahzad and Farookh -- were arrested in Husainganj area of Lucknow in February 2008 in connection with the CRPF camp attack in Rampur.
Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorist Sabauddin alias Saba and Fahim Ansari had already been taken by the ATS team to Mumbai in December to interrogate them in connection with the terror attack in Mumbai.
At the time of the arrests, maps of Mumbai and other information related to the city were recovered from the arrested ultras.
