Senior Indian Foreign Service officials Sharat Sabharwal and Meera Shankar will be the next envoys to Pakistan and the United States respectively.
This was stated by Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma in New Delhi while talking to reporters.
Sabharwal, Special Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, will succeed High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal, who reaches superannuation on February 28.
Sabharwal has earlier served in Islamabad as the deputy high commissioner.
Shankar, India's Ambassador to Germany, will succeed Ronen Sen in Washington, Sharma said.
He said Shankar will be succeeded by Sudhir Vyas who till recently was India's Ambassador to Bhutan.
