The Sri Ram Sena, which hit the headlines after its activists attacked girls in a pub in Mangalore recently, on Saturday said that false allegations were leveled against the outfit about its involvement in the alleged abduction of the daughter of a Kerala Member of Legislative Assembly on Friday night.

On Communist Party of India - Marxist MLA C K Kunhambu's charging the Sena with attacking his daughter and her male friend, Sene chief Pramod Muthalik said, "The allegations are framed to defame our Sena. These are false. Let the inquiry take place."

On the two arrests made in connection with the incident, he said they were not the workers of the right-wing outfit and if anybody from the outfit were found to be involved, stern action will be taken against them.

"Lessons will be taught (if any Sena member is found guilty). But don't give pre-judgment. Let the police investigate the incident," Muthalik told a TV channel.

Activists of a suspected saffron group had dragged Kunhambu's daughter and her accompanying male friend out of a Mangalore bus on Friday and reportedly kidnapped them before releasing the victims.

Rubbishing the MLA's charge of Sena's involvement in the matter, Muthalik said, "Don't do politics on the issue involving your daughter. Let the police investigate. I reject his statement."

On protests against Valentine's Day, Muthalik said, "We have been protesting against Valentine's day. We will not take law into our own hands. We will provide a helpline service for girls who are teased on that day."
