The Karnataka police seem to be finally making some headway in the Bengaluru serial blasts case.

On Friday, they announced that Abdul Sami, an accused in the serial blasts case, has been arrested.

Sami had been detained for questioning by the police on September 15. His role in the blasts is being probed.

Bengaluru Serial Blasts

During the course of the investigation, the police found that Sami, a student from Bijapur, was present in Bengaluru at the time of the blasts. It was also alleged that Sami was seen with Abdus Subhan, a key Indian Mujahideen operative who played a crucial role in the serial blasts. Subhan is believed to be hiding in Pakistan.

Sami was reportedly given the charge of IM's finances after Subhan came under the police scanner.

Message from the Bengaluru blasts

Sami's arrest was made public on Friday and the police say that he is now being questioned by members of the Anti-Terrorist Squad. The police have also seized the motorcycle used by Sami from Bijapur. The police suspect that he was involved in the blast at Madiwala in Bengaluru, in which a woman was killed.
