The Dalai Lama [ Images ] gestures (see the picture) as he leaves Leelavati Hospital in Mumbai [ Images ] on Monday. The Dalai Lama was discharged from the hospital four days after he was admitted with abdominal discomfort.

In recent weeks, the Dalai Lama has had a hectic itinerary as he campaigned for improved human rights in Tibet [ Images ] while China hosted the Olympic Games [ Images ]. The Tibetan monk fled into exile in India [ Images ] in 1959 following a failed uprising in Tibet against Chinese rule.
