Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra on Wednesday issued notification for the second phase of the state assembly elections, polling for which is scheduled for November 23.
Wednesday's notification covers six assembly seats in the north Kashmir's Ganderbal and Rajouri district of Jammu region.
An official statement issued in Srinagar said that November 5 has been fixed as the last date for filing nomination papers, and scrutiny will be held on November 6.
The statement said that November 8 will be the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures and polling is scheduled for November 23.
A total of 530 polling booths will be set up in the two districts for the second phase.
In the two assembly segments of Kangan and Ganderbal, 1,37,495 registered voters which include 71,336 male and 66,159 female voters, are expected to exercise their franchise.
Around 142 polling stations will be set up in Ganderbal district to facilitate voters on the polling day.
In the four assembly segments of Nowshera, Darhal, Rajouri and Kalakote in Rajouri district of Jammu division, 388 polling booths are being set up to facilitate 3,53,457 voters, which includes 1,82,529 male and 1,70,928 female voters.
The seven-phased poll for 87 assembly seats is spread over two months, and the polls will be held between November 17 and December 24.
The People's Democratic Party, which finally announced its participation in the polls on Tuesday, on Wednesday issued the first list of candidates for the first phase.
The PDP has included its much vaunted self-rule and providing employment to the youth as its main poll plank in the party manifesto issued in Srinagar.
