The Supreme Court on Friday permitted the use of loudspeaker and sound-system for crowd management and performance of rituals during the 'Chhat' festival at all beaches, including the one at Juhu, in Mumbai.
The apex court said that the sound system can be used by the organiser of 'Chhat' puja for the crowd management and performance of rituals till 10 pm.
The petition was filed by an organisation, Bihari Front, against the decision of the Maharashtra government to ban the use of sound system at Juhu beach during the Chatt festival.
