JD-U MP Prabhunath Singh acquitted in double murder case

A Patna fast track court onĀ  Friday acquitted Janata Dal-United member of Parliament, Prabhunath Singh and six others for lack of evidence in double murder case of 1995, a court official said.

Singh was one of the seven accused in the double murder case during the 1995 Assembly polls in Saran district.

The case related to theĀ murder of Daroga Rai and Rajendra Rai.

The case against Singh was lodged on the basis of the statement of the victims.

Prabhunath Singh represents Maharajganj constituency in the Lok Sabha and is a deputy leader of JD-U Parliamentary party. He faces over two dozen criminal charges, including murder, kidnapping and extortion.
