Former Pakistani military ruler General Pervez Musharraf, who had a brief brush as civilian president, on Saturday said he had no plans to re-enter politics.

Musharraf, who had nine year stint at the helm of affairs in turbulent Pakistan, said he had distanced himself from the political arena after he stepped down as President this August.

The former military ruler, who had to bow out in the phase of intense public pressure sought to brush off reports that he plans to re-enter politics, after he severs all links with army by moving out of the army chief's official residence in Rawalpindi.

Though Musharraf quit almost two months ago he has not moved out of the Army House in the garrison town of Rawalpindi.

Musharraf said he had not even thought about the issue of joining politics.

The retired general said he would soon shift from Army House to his farmhouse at Chak Shahzad on the outskirts of Islamabad. The farmhouse will be a personal residence and will not be used for political activities, Musharraf told Dawn news channel.

Musharraf, who stepped down to avoid impeachment by the new Pakistan People's Party-led government, also said he was not meeting any politicians as he had been distancing himself from politics.
