The Maharashtra BJP said that it has no objection to Shiv Sena executive president Udhav Thackeray becoming chief minister after the next Assembly polls in the state.
"It's a good thing that Udhav's name has appeared in media as a candidate for the chief minister's post," BJP state president Nitin Gadkari told reporters.
"We have no objection to Uddhavji becoming chief minister," Gadkari said.
The Sena has so far desisted from commenting on reports that Udhav Thackeray was contender for the chief ministerial post.
