In the wake of communal violence in Karnataka, the Centre has warned the state to be 'more careful' and restore peace and normalcy.
The warning was given by Home Minister Shivraj Patil after he reviewed the situation with Governor, Rameshwar Thakur in Bangalore on Saturday, ministry sources said on Sunday.
During his visit to Bangalore, Patil met the state Home Minister, Law Minister, Chief Secretary and Director General of Police.
Parts of Karnataka have witnessed a series of attacks on churches and members of the Christian community by alleged activists of Sangh Parivar outfits.
The BJP government in Karnataka has maintained that it is doing its best to control the situation and has termed the violence a law and order problem created by some miscreants.
Human rights activists have, however, said Sangh Parivar outfits are involved and have demanded a ban on the Bajrang Dal.
