A local court in Mumbai will decide on November 18 whether Maharashtra Navnirman Sena Chief Raj Thackeray has to be present in the court while arguments on the application seeking cancellation of his bail are heard.

The prosecution had last month filed an application before the suburban Vikhroli Metropolitan Magistrate seeking cancellation of bail granted to Raj in February this year for his alleged remarks against north Indians.

Special public prosecutor Rohini Salian said that Raj's presence in the court is required considering his "misconduct" after he was released on bail.

Salian said that the court while granting him bail had ordered him not to make any inflammatory speeches or cause enmity between two groups.

"However recent incidents have clearly shown that Raj has flouted the orders and thus his presence is required in this court," Salian argued.

Magistrate Sunil Gaidhani will decide on November 18 whether the MNS Chief has to appear before the court.
