High security will be deployed at Mumbai's beaches for Chhat Puja to be held on November 4.
In addition to the Mumbai police personnel, additional forces from the Reserve Police Force and defence forces will be deployed during the celebrations.
Approximately five lakh people are expected to congregate at the city sea fronts during the festival, official sources said.
A majority of the crowd is expected at the Juhu beach in northwest Mumbai and special arrangements have been made there for crowd control and security.
Over ten watch towers have been erected and a public address system has been installed to ensure public safety, the officials added.
