Karnataka's Bajrang Dal convenor Mahendra Kumar walked out a free man on Saturday after being granted bail by the court.
Kumar had been arrested on charges of inciting violence against Christians in the state. Three cases in different police stations including Mangalore and Chickmagalur were booked against him.
While he was granted bail by the Mangalore court two weeks ago, he opted not to be released as a case against him was pending before the Chickmagalur court.
Kumar's lawyer P P Hegde said that a warrant had been issued by the Chickmagalur court and hence they decided to obtain bail before securing his release.
Kumar was released from the Mangalore sub-jail after the bail order copy was made available to the jail authorities. Kumar said after his release that he would stay and work for the Bajrang Dal.
