The Special Investigation Team probing the May 13 serial blasts in Jaipur has detained a madrassa teacher and a telephone booth owner for their alleged role in the bombings that killed 66 people.

The SIT detained Hakimuddin, the teacher, and Kamil on Tuesday night, police said.

Hakimuddin, a resident of Nagla Imam Khan village of Mathura district, was living in Jaipur for the past two years and 15-year-old Kamli was running a PCO booth at Khumer Gate in Idgah Colony.

Both were detained following disclosure of their names by Mohammed Ilyas, the imam of the Jama Masjid in Bharatpur, who was detained last Friday and taken to Jaipur for interrogation.

A computer, a mobile phone and diaries were seized from Ilyas.

Hakimuddin and Kamil have been taken to Jaipur for questioning, the police said.

Eight near-simultaneous blasts in crowded market places and near a Hanuman temple in the walled city left 66 people dead and over 100 injured.
