Patil, Sonia to visit Jaipur on Thursday

Congress president Sonia Gandhi [ Images ] and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil [ Images ] will visit serial blasts-hit Jaipur on Thursday to take stock of the situation.

This was stated by Patil, who is on a two-day visit to the North-East. Patil, who will accompany Gandhi, said he was in constant touch with home ministry officials in Delhi [ Images ] to get the latest updates on the situation in Jaipur [ Images ].

He was also in touch with Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and had assured her of all help from the Centre.

Patil appreciated the people of Rajasthan [ Images ] for showing restraint despite the provocation by the perpetrators of violence.

The minister adressed media-persons near Dimapur after attending the passing-out parade of Assam Rifles.
