As soon as the House assembled for the day, SP members were up on their feet shouting slogans but Chairman Hamid Ansari asked the members to settle down as obituary references had to be made.
After the House mourned the death of tabla maestro Pandit Kishan Maharaj and those killed in the cyclone in Myanmar, the SP members led by Shahid Siddiqui again raised the issue and trooped into the well of the House.
The SP members raised slogans demanding arrest of Raj Thackeray and protection of the Constitution.
Ansari pleaded with the members to take their seats and let the Question Hour be taken up. "Please go back to your places," he said to SP members who were unrelenting.
With the din continuing for a few minutes, Ansari adjourned the House till 1200 hours.
