The ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) president and MP, Mehbooba Mufti, will visit Pakistan later this month to attend the Pugwash conference.
Mehbooba is expected to arrive Islamabad on March 27 to attend the two-day Pugwash conference on "regional stability".
"The proposed conclave will discuss problems of regional stability and initiatives that should be taken to promote peace and cooperation in the region, and make possible recommendations to the respective governments in this regard," a PDP spokesman here said.
"Focus of Mehbooba's presentation at the conference will be Prospects for Kashmir in Indo-Pak relations among other topics to be discussed during the conclave. She will give a detailed presentation of the party's self-rule proposals at the conference. Several political leaders, scholars and opinion makers, are scheduled to attend the two-day conference."
This will be Mehbooba's maiden visit to Pakistan.
"During her stay in Pakistan, the PDP President would be meeting a cross-section of leaders and civil society activists," the spokesman said.
