Former Defence Minister George Fernandes feels that there is a concerted effort on the part of the united Progressive Alliance government to send him to jail for signing some defence deals during his tenure.
Talking to rediff.com outside Parliament complex on Wednesday, Fernandes said: "This is definitely an attempt to settle scores with me."
When asked if the Central Bureau of Investigation had at any point of time questioned him with regard to the Barak missile deal, the former defence minister replied in negative.
"So far nobody has got in touch with me. They are now playing 'Tehelka' game with me," he said.
It may be recalled that a sting operation carried out by Tehelka weekly had exposed a deal allegedly being struck with arms dealers at the former defence minister's official residence by former Samata Party president Jaya Jaitley.
