The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday said that Rajkumar, who was arrested on Friday in connection with the Aarushi murder case, has confessed that he had broken and subsequently hidden the mobile phone of the victim. He also told the CBI that he could recover the 'khukri' used in the crime.
The CBI, while producing Rajkumar before Special magistrate Sapna Mishra, submitted that the domestic help of Durranis' had 'confessed under Section 161 of CrPC that he would help the agency recover the mobile phones of the murder victims Aarushi and Hemraj.
The agency made this claim before the designated court, after which Rajkumar was remanded to 14 days CBI custody for a detailed interrogation.
"I have perused the case diary. The accused, in his statement under Section 161 of the CrPC, has confessed that after switching off Aarushi's mobile phone, he had broken and hidden the same, which he can recover. The accused also said that he can help in the recovery of Hemraj's mobile phone from a secret place besides the Khukri," the order said.
The CBI had on Friday arrested Rajkumar after the forensic examination of his 'washed' T-shirt revealed that it contains traces of human blood.
