Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has fulfilled wish of his wife Rabri Devi by establishing a railway link between Phulwaria, his ancestral village with Salar Kalan, her village in Gopalganj district.

Lalu Prasad on Thursday inaugurated the new rail line on a 17.5-km stretch between Hathua and Phulwaria that connected Lalu's village with Rabri's village.

After inaugurating new rail line, Lalu flagged off the first passenger train. He also inaugurated a new station building at Phulwaria, where he was born.

It is said that soon after Lalu became railway minister, Rabri Devi requested him to connect his village with her village by a rail link. Without hesitation, Lalu promised her the link.
