A high level delegation led by Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal will visit Mumbai on Tuesday to meet the members of the family of Balkar Singh, who was killed in the incident of firing allegedly by private security guards of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh.
A decision to send the delegation was taken at the meeting of the Core Committee of the party in Chandigarh on Monday, presided over by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The delegation would also call on Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh to urge him to take the strictest possible action against the culprits responsible for this incident, Badal's media advisor Harcharan Bains said.
The delegation would also impress upon the Maharashtra CM to take immediate measures to safeguard the life and property of the minority Sikh community in Maharashtra.
The SAD has appealed to all the countrymen including the Sikhs to maintain the atmosphere of peace, communal harmony and amity at all costs as preached by the Great Gurus.
The delegation, which would include Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal, Avtar Singh Hit, Prem Singh Chandumajra and chief minister's advisor Daljit Singh Cheema, would also meet the people injured in this unfortunate incident and their family members.
