Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is unwell, Sanjaya Baru, media advisor to the prime minister, told rediff.com on Friday.

Dr Singh -- who has been upset over the delay in securing a political consensus on the Indo-US nuclear deal -- is not meeting anyone, said Baru, while denying any knowledge of the prime minister meeting Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar earlier in the day.

The prime minister had met external affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee late Thursday night before the latter left for Vienna to have the last round of talks with officials of the International Atomic Energy Agency on India-specific safeguards to be provided under Indo-US civilian nuclear deal.
The over four-year-old government headed by Dr Singh plunged into deep crisis when the Left parties refused to support the deal. According to the Left, through the 123 Agreement, the United States was imposing a number of conditions that had a bearing on national security.
