Continuing its aid to cyclone-affected Myanmar and quake-hit China, India will fly out three aircraft with relief materials to the two neighbouring countries this week.
An Indian Air Force's heavylift fixed wing IL-76 aircraft will leave for Yangon on Wednesday. This will be the sixth IL-76 flight to Myanmar.
Among the aid will be 3,500 FRP sheets, 10,000 ORS packets, 2,000 glucose bottles and about 100 tarpaulins.
To carry aid to China's quake-hit areas, the IAF has detailed two IL-76 aircraft that will fly out of Guwahati to Chengdu.
The first aircraft will leave on Friday and the other one on Saturday with 200 tents each, according to a Ministry of Defence press release.
Till date, the IAF has flown over 15 mercy missions and carried over 300 tonnes of medicines, tents, water, wheelchairs, portable houses and other relief material to Myanmar and Sichuan province of China.
The IAF had launched the relief mission on May 3 through six mediumlift An-32 aircraft and two naval warships to Myanmar's southeast coast.
The IAF now has a virtual air-bridge to Yangon ferrying military doctors, paramedics and medicine.
India's aid to the quake-affected China has been codenamed 'Operation Sahayta' and the IAF has so far airlifted over 150 tonnes of relief material to Chengdu on seven IL-76 aircraft.
