An indefinite curfew was imposed in the entire Jammu city on Thursday morning following fresh tension in the wake of a youth's suicide against the revocation of the forest land allotment to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.

Police and Central Reserve Police Force troopers have been deployed in strength to enforce curfew restrictions in the city.

However, despite the curfew protests erupted in some areas of the city and outskirts.

A Jammu youth committed suicide on Wednesday during the continuing hunger strike by activists of Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti against the cancellation of the land alloment order to SASB.

The youth, identified as Kuldeep Dogra, before committing suicide said he was taking the extreme step to protest against the cancellation order.

Protestors on Thursday morning refused to cremate the body of the youth. However, authorities were trying to persuade them.

"Curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure," said Sudanshu Pandey, divisional commissioner-Jammu.
