Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi was on Thursday discharged from the hospital, where he underwent an angioplasty 10 days ago. He flew back to the capital soon after his discharge from the hospital.

"I am going to Delhi right now and I will deliberate on the situation there. I am confident that everything will be all right," said Dasmunsi, referring to the political crisis arising out of the Left's withdrawal of support from the United Progressive Alliance government over the India-United States nuclear deal

All India Congress Committee general secretary Mohsina Kidwai said Dasmunsi is the most needed person in Delhi in view of the political developments.

"He is the most needed person in Delhi at this hour. I am happy to hear from you that he has been released from hospital," he told PTI.

The 62-year-old minister was admitted to the hospital after he complained of chest pain during a journey to West Bengal's Malda district on July 6 and was flown to Kolkata by a Border Security Force plane.
