The National Conference on Tuesday authorised its president to take a decision on the issue of supporting the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre in its July 22 trust vote.
The NC core group met at the residence of Omar Abdullah, party president and MP on Tuesday morning to deliberate whether or not to support the UPA government.
"The core group after hours of deliberations finally decided to authorise the party president to take a decision in the matter," senior NC leader and former minister Abdul Rahim Rather told newsmen in Srinagar.
NC has two MP's including party president, Umar Abdullah and Abdul Rashid Shaheen, representing Srinagar and Baramulla constituencies.
People's Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti and the party's lone MP has already announced her support to the UPA government.
