Heavy rains in Mumbai and its suburbs disrupted air services from the metropolis with most airlines reporting a delay of anywhere betweeen half-an-hour and two hours.
However, no flight has been cancelled so far.
"All operations are normal as of now. The average delay is just about 30 minutes," a Mumbai International Airport Limited official told PTI in Mumbai on Tuesday.
There was considerable delay in flights in the morning as the MIAL authorities had shut down a runway due to low visibility.
The runway was shut for just 15 minutes between 8.15 and 8.30 am, the spokesperson said.
Private carrier Jet Airways' flights were the most badly affected with most of its services reporting a delay of one to two hours.
Other airlines reported on an average a half-hour delay.
"We have the maximum number of flights operating to and from Mumbai airport. But much more than that, it is because one delay causes a chain delay in other flights," a Jet official said.
