A Central Reserve Police Force additional DIG was shot dead by a personal at the CRPF Group Centre in Hyderabad on Thursday evening.

According to the police, the CRPF jawan, identified as Hanumantha Raju, entered the room of the Additional deputy inspector general (administration) S S A Khan and opened fire at him with his service rifle.

He fired two rounds, critically injuring the official at around 6.15 pm.

The Additional DIG was immediately rushed to Osmania General Hospital in the city where the doctors pronounced him 'brought dead.' He sustained fatal injuries in his head.

Raju, who was taken into custody, reportedly told the police that he shot at the official as he was frustrated over denial of leave to him.
